Another Week Down
Ciao Family. I love you guys so much. It was so good to get on this morning and read your emails to me this week. You are all so amazing and each one of you are in my prayers each morning and night. I am so grateful for you and everything that you have done for me. I love you all!
This week was another solid one.
To start off...I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day!! Early last week we went and visited an older lady from our branch that has gone inactive. We visited with her and talked with her and we asked her if she would like to come to church on sunday and she said..."No Elders...I am just not feeling it anymore." It was kind of hard to hear her say that...But we just decided to keep her in our prayers. So on Valentines Day, which was Saturday, we were walking to the Church and walked by a stand that was selling Roses for 5 Euro. We walked by without thinking and then we both stopped and said..."Lets get one for Sorella Amorusso." Her husband passed away a few years back and so no one has taken her flowers in a long, long time. So we turned around and I bought her a rose and we took it to her house. When she opened the door she was so surprised and so excited to see us. Then when I handed her the rose she was so happy! She was just laughing and had the biggest smile on her face...As we were leaving she said..."Elders...Thank You. I will see you at church tomorrow!!!!" I almost fell over when we walked out of her house....I was so PUMPED!!!! You never know how much one little thing can mean to someone...It was the best feeling in the world! Then Yesterday she showed up to church for the first time in months! It was for sure a Miracle to me.
Sorella Amorusso is the best and She Loves me now because I gave her a rose.
Next cool thing that happened on Valentines Day was we went and Visited a guy in a ward that has some Special Needs. He is the BEST!! His name is Vincenzo... That is like Vincent in America! He invited us right into house and he made us some Cake and Hot Chocolate. He always wears a black beanie and he looks like one of the Seven Dwarfs from Snow White. I love him. He is so happy all of the time and always is smiling. I realized how perfect He really is. He brings so much to our branch. He makes every ones day better...He brightens every ones day always. I am so grateful for the opportunity that I had to go over to his house that night. We taught him about the importance of prayer...but in all actuality he taught me more then I could ever teach him. I will send a picture of us together home soon!! He is the BOMB!!
This passed week was soooo gooooood again!!
Last Wednesday we didn't have anything in evening so we decided to go to the Basketball Teams practice and Practice with them! This was so much fun and the first chance I have had to show my talents and abilities. There is about 20 kids that very from 15-25 years old. The coach seen me shoot the ball and dribble when I got there and pulled me aside and said..."Don't hold anything back on my guys tonight. Take it to them. Show them what you have got." So I did...And many of the kids came up to me and complimented me on how I played. This was a great finding tool because TONIGHT at 6 we are going to practice again to teach there whole team about the Gospel and about why we are serving missions!! I am so JACKED for this opportunity!! I am going to talk about Trials and hard work. The Coach is such a good guy. He always tells us how much he respects us and how much He wants us to come to practice to help his team! I am so excited for tonight!! IT is going to be sooooo gooooood. I will report on it next week for sure!
So now in the Spirit of Valentines Day I want to talk about love for a minute...
Love is an amazing thing. Love is what holds this world together. Love brings the best of people and Love is what makes people keep moving forward day to day. When a person feels loved...That person can do anything. Love is Powerful.
I know without a Doubt that God loves each of us more then we can possible comprehend. Earlier this week this hit me hard. IT was Tuesday Night and we were teaching English Course. Now at English Course there is an Advanced Class and a Beginners Class. Me and my Comp teach the Advanced class. In the class there is a 70 year old man who is fluent in French, English, and Italian. He just comes to associate with people. His name is Alfredo and He is the nicest guy. He always says to me...."Have a great night my Dear Boy!" Anyways we asked him about his family on Tuesday and He talked about his one son for 10 minutes. He praised his one son and told us how proud of him that he is...This is when it hit me. Hearing how much Alfredo loves his son, made me think how much God loves each and everyone of us. God loves us so much. His love is absolutely infinite. He Loves us so much that He gave His Son to die for us. His love in infinite and His arm is always stretched out willing to help. No matter how far away we feel from our Heavenly Father....We are NEVER out of reach of Gods Love. Never. No matter How alone we may feel...WE are never alone. He is always there willing to Comfort and willing to Bless. Gods Love is there for us whether or not we feel like we deserve it. It is simple always there.
This week I hope and pray that we will all feel Gods love more abundantly in our daily lives. I pray that we will choose to see the Rainbow instead of the Rain, but then Thank Heavenly Father for the rain. We all have a little rainstorm in our lives every once in awhile....but at the end of every storm Comes a Rainbow. Always remember that you are loved. Always remember that He is there! Heavenly Fathers loves each of us. That love that He has Never Changed.
Above all....Never Forget to simply Look Up and thank The One who is giving us another day here on Earth, or for the families that He has blessed us with.
Please Always, Always, Always Remember....that you Matter to HIM!
I love you all so much. Have the best week ever! Love is a powerful thing!
Thank you for all of the prayers...They help so much. You all are in my prayers every morning and night.
Scripture of the Week is.... 1 Nephi 10:8....
"For there standeth one among you whom ye knoweth not; and He is mightier than I, whose Shoe's Latchet I am Not Worthy to Unloose."
I know that Jesus Christ is our Savior. He is the Prince of Peace, The King of Kings, and He is our Brother. His Love is the most powerful of all. His love is Infinite and Eternal. He is there...He is always there. Christ will Succor His people. Succor means...To Run To. He is there, ready to run to our aid. We just have to be Humble enough to ask. Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of the World, and I know He is mightier than all.
Have the best week everyone.
